What it is

A booth header that shows your cash budget — live

For companies that buy at shows for cash — trading cards, coins, watches, sneakers, gold. The LED strip above the counter shows SPENT · SHOW BUDGET · REMAINING and changes in front of the crowd every time you buy.

  • The wall is a web page, rendered on the LED wall's real pixel grid and fed over HDMI to the controller.
  • The desk logs each purchase on a phone — card, amount, seller, three seconds. It writes to the cloud and to a Google Sheet automatically.
  • Every purchase is a show: pixel animations, sport-specific plays, BIG BUY takeovers, an hourly giveaway, sound bytes. Idle time runs an attract loop.
  • Built for a convention centre: internet by default, own hotspot as fallback, the wall never goes blank.

Demo controls drive the wall above; the sheet below is what the app writes to. Nobody types in it.

Demo controls

Every button cuts whatever is playing and starts right away. Under $10,000 = standard sale animation with the sport's own play. $10,000 and up = BIG BUY takeover first. When nothing sells for 25 s the wall runs an attract loop on its own.

Controls marked ♪ have sound bytes, all synthesized in the browser: hit + whoosh on every sale, typing ticks, the amount slam, money blips while the numbers count, a cash-register ka-ching at the end; bounces + swish, goal horn, bat crack, whistle per sport; siren + fireworks pops for BIG BUY; level-up chime for top-ups; waka-waka + chomp for the mascot; fanfare for top buy; countdown beeps, slot-machine ticks and fanfare for the giveaway.
SALEFlash → board slides out → pixel slab drops in → card name types out → amount slams in → board returns and the money flies from REMAINING to SPENT.
SPORTBasketball bounces into a hoop, soccer and hockey score into a net, baseball goes yard, football splits the uprights, TCG goes holo.
IDLEThe mascot chomps across Pac-Man style eating cards, then the top buy of the day with a pixel portrait of the seller (or their name).
$0Top up is the "budget increased" moment — green takeover, bar shrinks, remaining counts back up.
HOUREvery seller gets a ticket. The board shows NEXT GIVEAWAY mm:ss to the top of the hour, then counts 10 → 0 and reveals the giveaway card + winning ticket. The demo fast-forwards 59:00 → 30:00 → 5:00 → 1:00 → 10 s.

Sellers app (POS)

Our own app on any phone or tablet. Deal done → amount + card → Confirm. Three seconds. Works over the internet, so the desk can use any device. PIN-protected undo for fat-fingers.

Cloud + Google Sheet

The app saves every purchase to the cloud and pushes it into the Google Sheet automatically — nobody types in the sheet. The timestamped log is the cash reconciliation for the show, free. Anyone can watch from anywhere.

Booth PC → TB60 → wall

A mini PC runs this page fullscreen at 2304 × 256, HDMI into the NovaStar TB60. It reads the sheet every couple of seconds; the number animates down the moment a purchase lands, with the pixel show.

Optional: local network in the booth. We bring a travel router / hotspot. If venue internet dies, the app and the wall keep talking locally and sync back to the sheet when it returns. The wall always keeps the last good number — never blank.
Only decrement on confirmed payout, not when a deal is agreed. The number must never go back up in front of a crowd.
Plan the $0 moment. "Remaining $0" tells the floor to stop coming. Keep a reserve off-screen, or plan a "BUDGET INCREASED +$100K" top-up — it's great theater (press T).
The wall shows nothing but the header. Kiosk mode, no sleep, no updates, auto-relaunch, static fallback graphic. A 20-foot Windows update prompt would be the photo of the show.

This demo is configured for the wall in one real quote. Any cabinet count or pitch works — the page renders on whatever grid you have.

  • 9 × indoor cabinets, 640 × 640 mm, 2.5 mm pitch
  • 5760 × 640 mm = 18.9 × 2.1 ft — that's 9:1, not 10:1
  • 256 × 256 px per cabinet → 2304 × 256 px total (0.59 M pixels)
  • This demo is drawn on that exact grid: 1 art pixel = 4 × 4 LEDs = 10 mm square
  • ≥ 700 nits — plenty indoors; run it around 30–40 % so it doesn't wash out photos

Typical controller (NovaStar TB60) · one condition

  • HDMI 1.4 input — the mini PC feeds it directly (sync mode)
  • Capacity 2.3 M px, max 4096 px wide — we need 0.59 M px, 2304 wide
  • ! In sync mode the TB60 scales the HDMI source to fill the screen. The PC must output exactly 2304 × 256 (custom resolution) or the text gets squashed. Confirm with your LED vendor how they map it.
  • Also plays videos/images from WiFi (ViPlex) — a static fallback graphic if the PC ever dies

Ask the LED vendor before building

  • Will the TB60 take a 2304 × 256 HDMI source as-is, or does it need crop/scale config?
  • Do they supply the media PC, or do we bring the mini PC?
  • Rigging height of the header and the cable run to the desk
  • A test on the real wall before show day — not the morning of
